Buttermilk Handcrafted Food is Southern comfort at its best right here in Sarasota. It is truly a place for bringing people together and to be shared with friends. Its friendly, relaxed, unpretentious vibe and quality food, coffee and tea makes Buttermilk my new favorite place.
Owners, Jamie, wife Kathy and Jamie's sister, Crystle get their inspiration from family. All the dough for the sweet and savory rolls come from their grandmother. And who can go wrong using grandmother's recipes? Their offerings are well thought out and made with purpose from where they get their ingredients, the way it's prepared, what they offer each day, to the way their food is enjoyed by their customers hopefully with coffee or tea and with some pals. They use the best ingredients they can find such as Benton's Farm in Tennessee for their bacon and heavenly bacon jam, Grove Ladder Farm here in Sarasota for their fresh eggs and chicken, Perq Coffee Bar for their pour-overs, cold and nitro brews, and Tampa's Teabella for their brewed-to-order tea. Check out some more links below for Buttermilk's sources and you will see that Jamie, Kathy & Crystle believe in uncompromising quality.
Everything on the menu from their Benton's bacon and Grove Ladder Farm baked egg biscuit sandwich to their blueberry biscuits, cookies and assortment of pies is meant to compliment the exceptional coffee and tea they serve. When one pairs all that with friends, it is a meaningful experience and the intention of Buttermilk Handcrafted Food.
The exterior and interior of Buttermilk is quite stunning. The atmosphere of Buttermilk is basking in natural light which shows the purity of design and the handcrafted beauty of the space. It is the perfect backdrop for Buttermilk's handcrafted food and beverages. A special place for sure. I hope it will become one of your favorite spots like it has mine.
